Hello Friday!

Hello Everyone,

We will be busy this weekend getting things in order before we fly off to Maui. Packing always seems like a chore but with the right travel accessories it can be quite fun!

I love this luggage from Streamline it reminds me of the glamorous days of the past when people still dressed to travel, plus it's easy to spot on the baggage carrousel.

For traveling abroad I found this cool adapter, why not get bright pink? When your tired from jet-lag and getting ready for the day the color will make you smile.

A blanket and eye mask are essential for late night flights. These are from Target and Armand Diradourian. Armand's is super cool with it's zip pouch and it's cashmere.

With airport security being what it is, being organized is key to a swift scan. I love the clear color of these toiletry bags from Flight101 (it's a favorite web store of mine) they are so much better than zip-locks baggies!

These products will make packing so much easier and they look great too!

This is my last posting for a bit but I'll be back with stories and loads of color.

                                                    'till then Aloha!

                                                                             Monique Lhuillier

Monique's collection is wow! I'm crushing on the shapes and patterns that she is using, it is really beautiful couture. Growing up in the Philippine's, where her mother had a successful couture childrens line, Monique would sketch clothing designs and pick out fabric for her own clothing. Later she went FIDM and became interested in designing gowns. Aren't they beautiful? Hollywood starlets and the like get to enjoy her stunning gowns on the red carpet.

                                                                                Enjoy!

Hello Friday!

I'm really liking the high contrast between black and white it's elegant and crisp. I've stayed away from black for years now but I might be ready to add it back into my life. I've been coveting a new patio umbrella and I really want a black and white striped one.

I have not been able to find one I like as well as this one, this umbrellas look is softened by the use of beige instead of white, it's from Ballard Design.

I love the stripes on the curtains and the different patterns, it's very elegant.
I wish the patio umbrella had this fabric.

This is a dress that was dip dyed from my Pua Beachwear Collection, I love how it turned out! I love the hint of white at the bottom, look's like a cloud.

I found this pottery on Pinterest, it looks fresh with black accents. I love the flowers (although they are solid.) And the little trays as catchalls are too cool.

                                                 Matching patterns!

Greek Key patterns are classic. You could dress this up or wear it with distressed denim. It's from Eve Austin Design.

The thought of painting your walls black is kind of intimidating, but look at how beautiful this room is. I love it, black is the new black.

                                                                Have a happy weekend.
                                                           Enjoy!

                                                                          Delfina Baldas
                                                                      Spring / Summer 2013

A native of Buenos Aires, Delfina Balda brings her South American heritage using bright colors and bold patterns to influence her collection. I think the reason I like it so is that it looks like what I design. I'm crushing on the original pieces of handcrafted Amazonian jewelry, I love the rosettes, I also love the bright colors. You can see more of her collection here:http://www.delfinabalda.com/

                                                 Enjoy!

Hello Friday!

Hello Everyone,

I love painting on big canvases, I especially love a square canvas it's not traditional I guess that's why I like it. The thing about art is you can enjoy it anywhere. You don't have to hang your art in the usual places in your home. I found some pictures to share of some wonderful places to hang your art.

Eclectic Porch by Vancouver Photographer Megan Buchanan

I love the idea of art on the outside, this is something I would do if I had a porch. When we find our place in Maui I will certainly borrow this idea!

I do have one of my paintings in our breakfast nook. I think art in the kitchen is modern and simply cool. It could be above the sink or next to the stove, some place where you can enjoy it.

Sometime the bathroom gets overlooked. These two room are are so much better with art in them. The movement on the wall makes your eyes travel up and around, away from the commode.

Contemporary Bedroom by New York Interior Designer Allison Lind Interiors

This bedroom would be boring without the pop of color from the abstract painting. The bed has a low profile so the painting can act as the headboard and focal point.

Try something new in your home with art, experiment. If you don't like it you can change it but it may turn into something really special.

                                                        Enjoy!

                                                                            S/S 2013

City chic and ready for the beach! Barbara Bui's collection is polished yet the ethnic prints keep the pieces from looking too urban. I'm crushing on the bustier dress and the slim well cut leather pants. This collection is perfect for holiday in an urban tropical setting. Tres chic!

Hello Friday!

Hello Everyone,

The weekend is near and I'm craving some sun and spa time. A weekend get away retreat with mom to rejuvenate would be great way to spend mothers day. It would be so awesome to just hop on a plane and go where ever you wanted!

Look at these beautiful pools in Ibiza, so relaxing...

This is the luxury boutique hotel and spa named
Hacienda Na Xamena. Here you can escape from it all with gorgeous views and world class cuisine. They also use Thalasso therapy products at their spa. My mom and I would love relaxing in that water and soaking in the sunshine.

This is the luxury Caribbean spa Rosewood Little Dix Bay. I melting just thinking about getting a massage and looking out at the bay, ahh.

This is the spa treatment I would get for mom.

Little Dix Bay Signature Ritual

Your journey starts with a local body scrub (Spice & Coconut, Salt Island Salt or Mango Pineapple), and flows into a soothing 90-minute Seaside Sedation Massage. Enjoy a local bush tea to finish. Yes sign us up please!

This is one of my girlfriends favorite places, Necker Island. It's own by Sir Richard Branson. It's his own island home that he has turned into an exclusive private retreat that you can vacation at.

I like the Indonesian feel of Necker Island, I can see my mom and I relaxing here with our very own staff to help us rejuvenate. I can really imagine what that is like. Maybe someday...

If you can't escape with mom then a bath and spa gift basket would be a nice treat. I really like Scotch Naturals Nail Polish. They have a detox kit that would be a nice gift and introduce mom to a better way to treat her toes. Scotch is non toxic and biodegradable and they also have a soy based polish remover. The color selection is off the charts!

This cream is the best ever, it's so luxurious. I've been using it for several years an it makes my hands and feet super soft. The smell is like a Hawaiian garden!

Thanks to all moms that give their children unconditional love

                                                You are all goddesses!

                                    Happy Mothers Day!
                                                                                  xoxo
