Rachel Comey launched her menswear collection in 2001, it was so popular with women that in 2003 she created a women's line. Inspired by vintage looks and rock and roll makes her line very popular with the downtown crowed it's polished details make her clothing stand out. I'm crushing on the Dune dress I just love it's shape and fabric. I also love the Qatar coat (I have a thing for coats). Rachel's line is extensive and you can find her collections at better stores globally. You can also shop her web-store: http://www.rachelcomey.com/

Hello Friday!

We love camping and camping on the beach is the just best! In the summer when we do get some really warm days we'll take off for the coast. I love to have a pretty camp, the Mr. thinks it's silly that I want to hang fabrics and have beach pillows around but I know he really likes it. Right now the Mr. and I have a tent that we use for camping but we would like to get a camper trailer one day. It would make surfing in the cooler month much more enjoyable. I've found some PRETTY pictures of campsites to share with you.

I love bonfires at the beach and pretty fabrics like this.

This is the Cricket Trailer. It's super light weight and would be easy to tow behind my Jeep.

I love Airstreams but as with anything that becomes popular it becomes expensive. I absolutely love the interior of this Airstream....

Looking forward to the days hitting the road. Maybe we will see you out there!
 Have a happy weekend.
Enjoy!

Kelly Wearstler is a rock star of interior design. I've been following her career forever, she is a woman with a very talented eye. We were lucky enough to once stay in a Los Angles hotel she designed called Maison 140, that's when she first came to my attention. I loved it. Since then her career has sky rocketed. I love the glamorous yet punky style of her interiors and how that's reflected in her clothing and jewelry line she now designs too. Her line is vast from china to pillows, jewels, decorative objects, linens and fabrics. I can't imagine what's it's like to have that kind of energy to create such a big beautiful world. If I still had my boutique I would be clamoring to carry her line.

Hello Friday!

Hello Everyone,
I was cruising around Pinterest and found this cool picture of a mechanical elephant, it's actually a vehicle! I got me thinking about how us earthlings like to travel about and how innovative we are at creating forms of transport.

This is the Conference Bike it seats seven. I've seen this bike around my neighborhood, I think it looks like an octopus. This would be really cool to have if you had a large family, you can rent it at Dutch Bike Ballard.

I found this monowheel motorcycle and bike. I think they are very interesting ideas. I'm not sure how comfortable they are and look kind of hard to steer...

This is what the future looks like. I found this car on the National Geographic
website it's self driving and seats up to seven. All you have to do is sit back and relax. It's being tested and seems to have what it takes to hit the road. It's design comes from the studio of Mike & Maaike in San Fransisco.

It was fun to read about the new innovations in transportation and technology. It makes me have hope for us here on Earth. Happy Earth Day weekend!!

                                                      Jenni Kayne
                                                                          Spring 2013

I have had a crush on Jenni Kayne for a long while now. I love how clean lined her collection is, it's a bit tomboy and yet still feminine. Some day's you just want to throw something on where you don't have too think much. Any of these pieces would look great on such a day since they are basic yet very chic and have interesting, pretty fabrics. I think she's an American classic! You can find Jenni Kayne at boutiques or on her website:http://www.jennikayne.com/

                                                                            Enjoy!

Hello Friday!

Hello Everyone,

The weather is slowly getting warmer (still a way's away) and I can't wait to spend my days at the beach, I'm lucky to live right up the road from my beach! We take advantage of our tiny parcel of sand all summer long, I just wish we could surf here... We have to go to the coast to surf in my state, unless you like to stand up paddle. Our beach is so grey like our skies...sigh. This is why we travel as much as possible, so..

                                                                         my beach at home

Here are some of my favorite beaches I've been lucky enough to go to.

This is the entrance to Napili beach in Maui

Along this path grow bushes of wild Pikaki that are so fragrant you can smell them before you get to the path, yummy. I always pick a few for my hair on the way out.

This is the beach, it's just the best place to snorkel and relax. Sadly it's becoming really popular and therefore more crowded but we still come here a lot.

When I lived in California I would go to Laguna beach for people watching as well as lounging and gallery hopping.

Laguna

But my girlfriends and I would go to Huntington beach mostly...

Huntington

At Huntington beach they have a dog surfing competition every year. Dogs love to surf! If you are interested in going to the competition click here: http://surfcitysurfdog.com/

When I visited Barcelona I went to Barcelona beach. It's a pretty great beach for a urban environment.

One of my favorite gulf coast beaches is Destin beach in Florida. The white sand feels amazing on your feet, it's really a special place... Can you hear Margarita Ville?

When we visit Kauai we snorkel at Hideaways and Tunnels beaches. Parking is really difficult at Hideaways but worth it because it's some of the best snorkeling ever.

Hideaways

 Tunnels

We have a world full of amazing of beaches to explore and I feel very blessed to have been to some of them. It's important to take care of these sacred public spaces. If you don't belong to the Surfrider Foundation I urge you to do so. They're mission is the protection and enjoyment of oceans, waves and beaches through a powerful activist network. They are in about 18 countries around the world. You can find a chapter near you by going here:  http://www.surfrider.org/

                                              Have a great weekend!
                                                           Enjoy
