Hello Friday!

Hello Everyone,

The weather is slowly getting warmer (still a way's away) and I can't wait to spend my days at the beach, I'm lucky to live right up the road from my beach! We take advantage of our tiny parcel of sand all summer long, I just wish we could surf here... We have to go to the coast to surf in my state, unless you like to stand up paddle. Our beach is so grey like our skies...sigh. This is why we travel as much as possible, so..

                                                                         my beach at home

Here are some of my favorite beaches I've been lucky enough to go to.

This is the entrance to Napili beach in Maui

Along this path grow bushes of wild Pikaki that are so fragrant you can smell them before you get to the path, yummy. I always pick a few for my hair on the way out.

This is the beach, it's just the best place to snorkel and relax. Sadly it's becoming really popular and therefore more crowded but we still come here a lot.

When I lived in California I would go to Laguna beach for people watching as well as lounging and gallery hopping.

But my girlfriends and I would go to Huntington beach mostly...

Huntington

At Huntington beach they have a dog surfing competition every year. Dogs love to surf! If you are interested in going to the competition click here: http://surfcitysurfdog.com/

When I visited Barcelona I went to Barcelona beach. It's a pretty great beach for a urban environment.

One of my favorite gulf coast beaches is Destin beach in Florida. The white sand feels amazing on your feet, it's really a special place... Can you hear Margarita Ville?

When we visit Kauai we snorkel at Hideaways and Tunnels beaches. Parking is really difficult at Hideaways but worth it because it's some of the best snorkeling ever.

We have a world full of amazing of beaches to explore and I feel very blessed to have been to some of them. It's important to take care of these sacred public spaces. If you don't belong to the Surfrider Foundation I urge you to do so. They're mission is the protection and enjoyment of oceans, waves and beaches through a powerful activist network. They are in about 18 countries around the world. You can find a chapter near you by going here:  http://www.surfrider.org/

                                              Have a great weekend!
                                                           Enjoy
