Rabens Saloner is so much my style and is designed by Birgitte Raben Olrik from Copenhagen. She started her company in 2007 and it is worn by women world wide who crave a laid back life style. With it's gorgeous textures, colors and hand detailing I'm sure it will become one of your favorites too. You can find Rabens Saloner in fine boutiques worldwide. For a store nearest you click here:

Hello Friday!

Hello Everyone,

I've been working on a pretty sundress in the studio the last few days. It's been a lot of fun creating this dress with folds and pleat work. I also spent some time doing a Shibori style of dye work on it and I love the way it turned out. Shibori is a Japanese style of Tye Dye using Indigo which includes stitching, binding, folding, capping and twisting. I really love the way it looks and you see it everywhere in the textile market. Here are some examples of the beautiful style of Shibori. Have a great weekend!
                                                          Enjoy!

DESIGN CRUSH

                                                                  ANTIK BATIK
                                                                     SUMMER 2013

I have always loved this line from France. One of the things I really like is they always have beautiful bohemian prints and lovely silhouettes (I'm really crushing on the pink and black top!). I love the fact that they are true to their style and don't change with trends. They are a line of clothing you can always count on to be perfect. You can find Antik Batik at special boutiques or you can shop on-line.

Hello Friday!

Ballard Sunday Market
                        Hi Everyone!

Yea it's the weekend and I'm looking forward to going to one of the Sunday Farmers Market's. I'm starting to see some early peas and other yummy produce. I can't wait for warmer weather to come so we can have more fresh veggies and flowers. It's amazing that we can grow so many things in the NW, our farmers are miracle workers. I have a hard time growing anything but lettuce and carrots...not enough sun.

When I travel I always find out where the farmers markets are. I still cook for my family while were away and like to try new local flavors of the region. I love the town of Makawao in Maui. They have a fun and festive market and it's nice to be up in the hills on those hot Hawaiian days.

When we are on the Big Island (Hawaii) we go to the Hilo Farmers Market. You can find some beautiful local color. They also have wonderful crafts so you can find something unique to bring home.

DESIGN CRUSH

                                     Isabel Marant
                                      Spring 2013

Isabel Marant's is typically known for her tomboy meets bohemian look but this spring it's all about the feminine. I love the flowing sheer silks, the embroidered details and the hippie prints. I can just see these pieces being worn out in the night life of Honolulu on a dreamy beach vacation.

                                                    Enjoy!
